PESO Explosive Licence Renewal: A Step-by-Step Guide

An expired explosive licence stops production instantly — PESO does not grant grace periods. Renewal is paperwork-heavy but predictable if you start early.

Know your window

Apply at least 60 days before expiry. Late applications invite inspection delays and, in the worst case, a gap in your licence — which means no explosive purchases and no blasting.

Documents to prepare

  • Form LE-1 (new) or LE-2 (renewal) with the correct fee challan
  • Site plan and magazine layout with safety distances clearly marked
  • No-objection from the District Magistrate and local police
  • Proof of magazine condition — ventilation, lightning protection, signage
  • Blaster licences and staff competency records

Common rejection reasons

  • Safety distances violated by new construction near the magazine
  • Magazine maintenance lapses (leaking roof, missing signage, unsecured doors)
  • Incomplete fee or wrong licence category

Our compliance team manages the full PESO lifecycle — from application drafting to inspection accompaniment. Ask us for a licence health check.
